RME introduces the LNI-2 DC Low Noise Isolating Active DC Power Filter that is both compact and portable, crafted from a solid block of aluminum. This device offers isolation, regulation, and filtering of output signals from any 12-volt DC power source, leading to a significant enhancement in DC voltage stability and providing an exceptionally clean 12V power supply. This improvement results in superior audio signal quality, ensuring a sound free from humming, buzzing, or other disturbances caused by power supplies or unstable mains power.

The LNI-2 DC is built on two main features: galvanic isolation and RME's exclusive Filter. Galvanic isolation is an advanced method that effectively blocks noise, from low-frequency hums to high-frequency interference and leakage currents, from reaching the filtered DC output. By incorporating galvanic isolation, unwanted noise that could otherwise affect the filtered signal is prevented. This method not only filters the positive DC path but also isolates the ground (negative) between the input and output.

The Filter (micron filter) of the LNI-2 DC comprises a discrete Ultra Low Noise linear regulator with an extremely low noise output of just a few micro-volts, along with features like soft start, thermal overload protection, short circuit protection, and sensor technology.

Operating with power sources ranging from 9-18V DC (input), the LNI-2 DC delivers a steady, precise voltage of 12.0 V at 2 A through the lockable output socket. The integrated sensor technology of the Filter ensures stable output voltage by directly monitoring and comparing the output voltage at the DC connector of the included 4-wire cable, eliminating any voltage drops that may occur with varying loads. Additionally, two DC Sensor connection cables with lockable and non-lockable DC plugs (2.1 x 5.5 mm, 1 m) are provided.

The unit features two status LEDs at the top, indicating input and output voltage levels as well as overload conditions. A unique aspect of the device is the ground terminal screw that allows the DC output ground to be connected to PE (protective earth), ground, or other device grounds as needed to address grounding concerns.
