Roland has introduced the Roland VC-1-DL Bidirectional SDI/HDMI Video Converter to meet the increasing demand for high-quality, lossless video and audio conversion in live/post-production settings and installed systems. The lineup includes the Roland VC-1-HS (HDMI to SDI), VC-1-SH (SDI to HDMI), VC-1-DL (Bi-directional SDI/HDMI with audio/video delay and frame sync), and VC-1-SC (Up/Down/Cross Scan converter to/from SDI/HDMI).

The VC-1 Video Converter series ensures top-notch picture quality by preserving the original signal's video characteristics, offering rich-blacks and super-whites without interlacing artifacts or other conversion errors common in alternative converters. Additionally, the VC-1 series is equipped with an on-board re-clocker to counteract SDI signal attenuation over long distances. It also supports both level A and B 3G-SDI, enabling connectivity with a range of high-quality SDI sources.

In live production scenarios, the addition of video components can introduce latency. The VC-1-DL converter not only facilitates bidirectional SDI/HDMI conversion but also features frame sync and allows for independent audio and video delay adjustment of up to 9 fields (4.5 frames).
