The Summit Audio TD-100 Instrument Preamplifier and Tube Direct Box features a hybrid signal path using a discrete transistor that drives the output device and a 12AX7A/ECC83 vacuum tube that drives the input secition. It's perfect for studio and live use and it offers a variable input impedance control that can dramatically change the sound of an instrument. That by decreasing the impedance on the TD-100, the instrument's pickups get loaded down which causes it to change their tone and the way they react to the string vibrations (making the tone quieter or darker). And by raising the impedance, it allows the pickups to work without distractions. It opens up the sound with a slight increase in gain and the instrument can then sit properly without EQ. The TD-100 is an instrument preamp that will bring true high-end audio quality to home studios.
